What do I do when death occurs?

Depending on where the death occurs dictates the circumstances in which certain events take place.

• Death in an Institution: When a death occurs in a hospital or nursing facility, the medical staff will take care of and assist you with many necessary steps. You just need to inform them that Haley-McGinnis is the funeral home handling arrangements. At this time they will contact us and we will be ready to help you. We are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

• Death at Home: Today, more and more people are electing to stay home with the care of hospice. Again, informing hospice that Haley-McGinnis is your funeral home of choice will inform them to contact us at the time of need and we will come to your home.

• Death out of State: Contacting Haley-McGinnis directly from the place of death allows us to assist you through our membership in several national associations. Many times we can save families money by contacting a local funeral director and make arrangements with them on your behalf.
