William “Bill” Larry O’Bryan passed away on the morning of Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at his home in Owensboro, KY. He was born on October 17, 1951 in Daviess County, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents Benedict “Herman” O’Bryan and Mary “Daisy” Pike O’Bryan, and his infant sister, JoAnn O’Bryan. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Rebecca “Becky” Hamilton O’Bryan; his daughter, Katie Lynn O’Bryan of Owensboro, KY; his son, Dr. John Benjamin O’Bryan of Seattle, WA; his brother, Ronald (Kathy) O’Bryan of Kokomo, IN; his brother, Patrick (Susan) O’Bryan of Owensboro, KY; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins across the nation. Bill was retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1701. He also worked at Green River Steel and Century Aluminum. Bill was a truly kind-hearted and compassionate person. He shared his inherited loyalty and devotion to family with his mother. He inherited his father’s sense of curiosity, ingenuity, penchant for mischief, and general stubbornness. Bill loved to laugh and often playfully ribbed those close to him. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving animals and hearty campfire-style breakfasts. Most importantly, he was truly proud of the accomplishments of both his children, never once doubting their ability to accomplish their dreams. Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 14 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Father Jerry Riney officiating. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8pm on at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory and on Saturday from 10 to 11am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Michael J.   6. I had been missing Bill at the barber shop. Today when I read my IBEW journal I realized why. So sorry for your lose. Take joy in the fact that once again Bill is whole and well in Heaven! I’m glad I was able to know Billand always enjoyed his yarns.
