Charlotte Arnett, 69, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Heartford House. She was born July 25, 1944 in Owensboro, KY to the late Chester Yewell Belcher and Pearl Parks Lanham. She was a member of St. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church, and retired from Daramic as an accounting specialist after 40 years. Mrs. Arnett was a District Governor for the Lions Club and was instrumental in providing eye examinations, glasses and follow up care through the Lions Club for elementary children in Kentucky. She was also a volunteer with Hospice. Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband. Alvin “Wayne” Arnett (2013), and two brothers, William Yewell Belcher and Robert Belcher. Surviving are two daughters, Vickie (John Miles) Wilkerson of Owensboro and Lisa (Wayne) Hall of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Ryan Wilkerson and Lauren Wilkerson of Owensboro and Scott Gilreath and Dillon Gilreath of North Carolina; two sisters, Lois (Melvin) Connor and Sherry (Greg) Hagan all of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating and entombment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Prayers will be said 7 p.m. Friday.
