Clarence Beasley, Jr., moved to his home in Heaven on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the age of 81. Clarence had a strong faith in God that he lived out daily. He was born January 26, 1932 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late Clarence and Ella Mae Vincent Beasley, Sr. He retired from BellSouth after 40 years. He was an active member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, trustee and in the Senior Adult ministry. He was also a member of BellSouth Pioneers and a US Navy veteran. Mr. Beasley enjoyed woodworking, UK Basketball, studying his Bible and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Aside from his parents he is preceded in death by six sisters, Emma Jean Beasley, Zona Mae Renfrow, Greadine Barns, Tina Ann Beasley, Betty McIntyre and Caroline Crowder. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Joyce Jameson Beasley; two daughters, Penney Roos of Owensboro, Joy (Todd) Anderson of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Katy and Connor Anderson and Jordan and Daniel Roos; two sisters, Ida Marie Vincent of Central City, Martha (Sherman) Schroader of Greenville, an aunt, Beatrice Vincent Govensky of Central City and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Eugene Howard officiating and burial to follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Walnut Memorial Baptist Church Men on Mission Bible Study Class, 519 W Byers Ave., Owensboro, KY 42301 or to Hospice of Western KY, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ben Keeley and Dr. Bill Bryant, the staff of Owensboro Health, and the staff of Heartford House for their compassionate care during Clarence’s illness.
