  2. Mike, Pam, Donna and Steve and Butch,
So sorry for your loss and that I will be unable to attend Uncle Ernies funeral. I thought a lot of him and loved him.
I know Johnda and Shanna and Roger will be there and I would imagine Scott and Joyce.

buddies truly owensboro has lost a legend my condolence to family

  4. Coach Ernie you where the best I shall say. You put so much effort into me as a baseball player in 12 and under. You taught me to stand up for myself, and taught me to strive through any problem. You help me to become an outstanding ball player, and that

  5. What a great man the owensboro community has lost…Ernie knight taught me how to play baseball…he was my coach for three of the greatest years of my life…but he was much more than a coach to me…he was a mentor…a father figure…a safe haven for m

  6. My sincere sympathy to Ernie’s many friends and family. Great guy, great coach, great lover of the game.

I just played for him for a few weeks as a member of a 13 year-old all-star team (1966?), but through the years, he would always greet me by name.
