Estelle Oberst

Estelle Oberst, 92, of Henderson, Kentucky, formerly of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Redbanks Nursing Home after a short battle with cancer. She was born March 19, 1920 to the late Joseph and Stella Hamilton Hagan. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Oberst, Sr., son, Thomas Oberst, sister, Phyllis Chapman, brother Joe Hagan and daughter-in-law Barbara Oberst. Estelle is survived by her children; Sandra (Darrell) Flatter of West Chicago, IL, Robert Oberst, Jr. of Newburgh, IN, Patricia (Doug) Cole of St. Peter, MO, Charlotte (J.T.) Hood of Rainsville, AL, Margaret (Ray) Flittner of Lebanon, OH, Sarah (Mike) McCoy of Indianapolis, IN, Cyndi (Ray) Mayes of Henderson, KY, 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, brother Robert (Nancy) Hagan of Owensboro, KY, sister-in-law Teresa Hagan and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home with Father Ed Bradley officiating and burial to follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Prayers said Friday, 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Anthony Hospice, 2410 South Green Street, Henderson, Kentucky 42420.
