Jack Horn, 73 of Owensboro passed away on January 24, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Daviess County on July 7, 1944 to the late Morgan and Anna Bell Livers Horn. Mr. Horn retired after working for several years at MPD and Field Packing Company and later became the self-proclaimed sidewalk superintendent and mayor of 12th street. He was a member of Good Shepherd Church and enjoyed his days swinging and spending time on his porch, having coffee with his friends at McDonald’s, and spending time with his babies, who lovingly knew him as “Papaw Jack”. He also enjoyed dinners at the park and going to car shows. He was preceded in death by his son, Jackie Wayne Horn; his siblings, Robert, Bill, Donald, Charlie and Morgan Jr. Surviving is his wife of 54 years of marriage, Ruth Vanover Horn; siblings, James (Linda) Horn Sr. and Nancy Horn.; and several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Services will be at noon on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory from 3:30 to 7:30 pm Saturday and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial to follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Kosair Children’s Hospital, 231 East Chestnut Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202.
