Jerome Minton

Jerome Minton Sr., 77, of Owensboro passed away on Friday ,August 2, 2013, at Twin Rivers Nursing & Rehab Center in Owensboro. He was born on August 16, 1935, in Owensboro to the late Nester (Barney) and Lucy Pendleton Minton. He was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church and a retired pipefitter. He enjoyed watching TV, especially religious programs, the outdoors, deer hunting and watching birds. He is survived by his children, Jerome Minton Jr., Terri (Don) Nation, Karen (Steve) Estes, and Tammy Moseley all of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Chris Minton, Brooke Wise, Lindsey Purcell, Ashley Estes, Stephanie Harley, Tiffany Hunter and Sean Vance; seven great-grandchildren, Emily Minton, Madison Purcell, Jackson Purcell, Nolan Wise, James Moseley, Tyler Harley and Andrew Harley; and two sisters, Audra Ray and Brenda Minton both of Owensboro. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and after 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky and Humane Society of Owensboro. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
