June D. Ebelhar, 86, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014. She was born March 6, 1928 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Clarence and Waxie Taylor Dibble. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Sorgho Homemakers, Sorgho Bunco group for 50 years, and a Daviess County 4-H Leader for 43 years. Besides spending time with family, she enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and crafting. She was very involved with Owensboro Catholic High School athletics and fund raising and was a dedicated UK Wildcat fan. Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Peter Ebelhar (2004) and a brother, J. D. Richardson. Surviving are her children, Dr. Maurice Wayne and Annetta Ebelhar of Leland, MS, Larry C. and Brenda Ebelhar of Bonita Springs, FL, David Lee and Pam Ebelhar of Owensboro, Dr. Stephen A. and Bonnie Ebelhar of Marion, IL, Sandra Ebelhar-Clark and Bobby Clark of Bowling Green, Peter J. “P.J.” and Sarah Ebelhar of Owensboro, Donna J. Ebelhar and Daniel Diachun of Lexington, KY, and Richard “Brad” and Angie Ebelhar of Owensboro; twenty-one grandchildren, Christopher and Jonathan Ebelhar, Nicholas and Ryan Ebelhar, Caroline and Drew Ebelhar, Jill, Corey and Greg Clark, Michael, Matthew, Brandon, Billy and B.J. Ebelhar, Rocky, Libby and Jack Ebelhar, Alana and Erica Ebelhar, Chad and Jamie Winters; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Surviving sister, Anne McLeod and in-laws are Vincent Ebelhar, Kenneth Ebelhar and Clara Marie Gillis. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with Father Mark Buckner officiating. Burial to follow in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 9 to 9:45 Wednesday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Prayers said Tuesday at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Western KY, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301 or to St. Mary Magdalene Education Fund, 7232 KY Highway 56, Owensboro, KY 42301.   1. Mrs Ebelhar was an amazing woman. She was a great athletic supporter of OCHS. I remember her ‘cooking’ pre-game meals for football!! She raised amazing children who in trurn raised great kids. And I’m sure she’s happy with Mr Ebelhar now. Rest in peace.

  2. I went to school with P.J. and always loved going to there house in the winter and sledding down their hill in the back of the house. Mrs. Ebelhar always had hot chocolate ready for us after a full day of sledding. She was a wonderful Mother and person. S
