M Ethel Payne

M. Ethel Payne, 89 of Wheeling, Illinois passed away on August 24, 2014 in Wheeling, Illinois. She was born February 1, 1925 in Daviess County to the late Hubert and Rose Clark Payne. She was retired as a Commander in Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Services. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and received a BSN from Peabody College in Nashville, TN., graduated from Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in Louisville, KY., and received her Master’s Degree in Public Health from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerard, Leo (Marie), Ivan, Paul Payne; sisters, Mary Alice (Jack) Turner. Surviving are her siblings, Mildred Clark and her deceased husband Bill, Tom (Jane) Payne, Tony (Theresa) Payne, Bernard (Stella) Payne; sisters-in-law, Joan Payne, Carol Payne and Nell Payne all of Owensboro. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Catholic Church. VISITATION WILL BE AT IMMACULATE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2516 Christie Place from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Father Tony Jones will officiate. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. The family requests that expression of sympathy take the form of donations to Addolorata Villa 555 McHenry Road, Wheeling, Illinois 60090 or Spiritual Bouquets in the form of Catholic Masses.
