Marian Haire, 91, of Owensboro, went to be with her Savior Tuesday, November 18, 2014. She was born January 4, 1923 in Daviess County to the late Uffie and Mary Catherine Wedding Smith. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, especially making her homemade biscuits every morning, reading her Bible, and spending time with her family, friends and her dog. Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Richard Haire (1987) and five sisters. Surviving are her children, June (Jimmy) Dickens of Owensboro, Judy G. (Johnny) Vanover, of Whitesville, Rose Mary (Bill) Davis of Stanley, Nancy (James) Smith of Stanley, Maryanne (Eric) Smith of Philpot, Debra S. (Larry) Sparks of West Louisville, Scott (Gail) Haire of Stanley, David (Barbara) Haire of Owensboro and Jerry Lynn (Millie) Smith of Owensboro; twenty-one grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Jean Terlitsky of Girard, Ohio. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home with Reverend J.P. Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western KY, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.   2. I remember going to granny’s house and watching her fix biscuits and cooking bacon. The big table she had was full of plenty of food, and people surrounding it.
