Phyllis McKay, 64, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Born Jan. 25, 1952, in Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Homer Beals and Deane Morehead Beals. She was a hairdresser by trade and had worked at Guys & Dolls Hair Salon, and had also worked as an Assistant Manager at Rite Aid Pharmacy. She was a member of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, John ‘Mickey’ McKay, Sr.; two sons, John (Anna) McKay Jr, and Jason (Stacy) McKay all of Owensboro; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Keith (Rhonda) Beals of Stanley; two sisters, Pam (Bobby) Johnson of Owensboro and Patty Blincoe of Henderson; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
