Suzanne Wimmer

It is with great sadness the family of Suzanne Wimmer announces her passing on Saturday, May 19, 2018, after a brief illness at the age of 65 years, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Suzanne was born November 25, 1952 and is the daughter of Donn and Juanita Wimmer of Hawesville, Kentucky. Suzanne was currently working as Property Manager of MBA Properties in Owensboro, Kentucky. She will be fondly remembered as a long time member and past Madam President of Fraternal Order of Eagles #4168 of Owensboro, and a huge supporter of the Eagles “Children’s Christmas Wish” program.
Suzanne’s last wishes were to donate her body to medical research. Survivors including her parents are: daughter, Jennifer Wimmer, three grandchildren, Cedar, Jiah, and Arwen and one great granddaughter, Stella - all of North Carolina, her sister, Linda Dillon of Owensboro Kentucky and brother, Steven Wimmer of Hawesville, Kentucky.
A memorial “Celebration of Life” for Suzanne will be held on Friday, May 25th at 3:00 p.m., at Haley McGinnis Funeral Chapel, 519 Locust Street in Owensboro. Father Jerry Riney presiding. The public is invited.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests in honor of Suzanne, donations be made to the Eagles Christmas Wish Fund #4168, c/o Fraternal Order of Eagles #4168, 1710 Starlite Drive, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301.
I don’t think we’ve ever seen Suzanne without a smile on her face! She was always helping others and cooking up something special. So hard to believe she is gone from us. She will truly be missed!

I was very sad to hear of Suzanne’s passing. We have exchanged comments many times on social media. We shared many memories of growing up in Hawesville. I know she will be missed terribly by all who knew her. My condolences to her family.
