Thurman Dant, 86, of Chatsworth, GA. formerly of Owensboro passed away on June 5, 2016 in Owensboro. He was born on March 23, 1930 in McLean County, Ky. to the late Vincent Steven and Nezzie Keown Dant.
Mr. Dant was retired from The Hon Company as a planer operator. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and playing his guitar.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Payton Dant; grandson, Caige Smiley; brothers, Gene Dant; and his sisters, Wilma Muffett, Thelma Bullington and Stella Brown.
Surviving are his children, James Thurman Dant Jr., Sabrina Dant, Marie Dant, Bill Dant, Pat Dant, Karion Jones(Danny) and Jeni Smiley(Matt; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Also his siblings, Herman Dant, Tom Dant, Carl Dant, Albert Dant, Charles Dant, Louise Thompson and Pearl Dellett.
Service will be 12:00 Wednesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory.
Visitation at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory from 9:00 to 12:00 Wednesday.
