Eddie Carbon, 62 of Owensboro passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on April 7, 1954 in Owensboro to the late Adolph Carbon and Helen Harris. He was a member of Sweeney Street Baptist Church, enjoyed playing football, watching movies, especially westerns and games shows. He loved spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hope Carbon; brother, James Roher; a granddaughter, Amiya Smoot; 2 nephews, James C. Roher and Chaz Robinson; and a niece, Doraine Hanley. Surviving are his wife of four years, Joyce A. Carbon; his children, Jonathan Swanagan, Eddie Carbon Jr., Alisa Smoot, Amanda Douglas all of Owensboro and Misty Webb of Leander, Texas; eleven grandchildren; his siblings, Barbara Carbon of Owensboro, Larry Carbon (Myong) of Warner Robins, Ga., Nancy McHenry(Clark), Johnnie Watson, Kathy Calhoun all of Owensboro, William Harris(Shelia) of Killeen, Texas, Patricia Calhoun, Lisa Bass(Kenny) and Kim Harris all of Owensboro; brother-in-law, Brian McGuire of Morganfield; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Wendell) Theus of Morganfield, Sharon Parker of Danville, IL, Ericka Jones of Hinesville, GA, and Tamiko Darden of Evansville, IN; his lifetime friends, Archie Johnson and Patty Moorman of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at noon Saturday at Sweeney Street Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Kendrick officiating. Visitation will be after 11 am at the church.
